Name:
Deborah Halligan
Qualifications:
Dip Integrative Humanistic Counselling
BSc (Hons) Psychology
MSc Applied Psychology
Accreditation:
Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy [BCAP]
Professional Title:
Counsellor / Psychotherapist
Experience & Qualifications …
My work experience includes 18 months as an associate counsellor with the national mental health charity Mind, and 14 months as a counsellor with Advanced Brighter Futures, a mental health charity based in North Wales.
My BACP accredited counselling training has provided me with a strong skill set, in active listening and exploration techniques, to support you as you work through your situation, and my British Psychological Society accredited Bsc and Msc have provided a comprehensive understanding of the effect our thoughts, feelings and biology have on our behaviour.
This allows me to help you understand your current situation/needs, identify negative coping strategies, and learn how to use your strengths to create more positive outcomes.
I believe that the professional relationship between my client and I is key to productive counselling and is built on mutual trust, respect and confidentiality.
